I’m a north Florida native, passionate about helping people live healthier lives by teaching them how to grow unique and interesting foods. Whether you’re looking to improve eating habits, learn how to spice up your yard/garden, or just want new ingredients for meals, I have the experience and dedication needed to help you bring joy to your yard and kitchen.

Lisa Baxter is an extremely motivated health and wellness expert with extensive engagement and resource development experience in the for-profit, nonprofit, school, and faith-based arena.  Mrs. Baxter’s experience in the nonprofit sector includes project management, marketing, and communications.  In the for-profit world, she has been managing a multi-million-dollar law firm.  Lisa has a passion for implementing a multi-faceted partnership model with a proven track record for mobilizing key constituents towards a common goal.   

With over 10 years working in the 14th largest school district, it stirred her interest in educating others.  This combined with her passion for gardening is what led her to pursue a Master Gardener Certification specializing in yard-to-table approach to health and wellness.  She is passionate about the health and wellbeing of others due to her own journey of experiencing a bilateral mastectomy. She began her quest to build her legacy as a partner with a Wellness Center and by establishing a retreat model designed to help individuals and families live their best life. 

As a Certified Wellness Coach, she empowers individuals through whole body recovery promoting health and wellness and transforming lives.  Mrs. Baxter has helped clients achieve their wellness goals through nutrition, fitness, yard-to-table, and goal setting.  With certifications and life experiences in health and wellness she facilitated over 50 successful client transformations.  She is passionate about guiding people towards a healthier and happier life, one day at a time by using a unique approach to coaching.

“My journey to becoming a wellness coach started when I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my early 30s. At the time, I felt lost and overwhelmed, unsure of how to manage my symptoms and maintain my health. Over the years, I tried everything from medications to strict diets, from exercise to fasting, but nothing seemed to work.  I was exhausted and steadily gaining weight.” 

It wasn’t until I discovered holistic wellness practices that I began to see real improvements in my health. I started experimenting with different approaches, farm-to-table, yoga, hormone balancing, gut health, and nature discovery, and slowly but surely, I began to feel better.

Through my own journey, I realized how important it is to take a holistic approach to resiliency and wellness. It’s not just about managing symptoms, but about taking care of yourself on all levels – mind, body, and spirit.  And it didn’t stop there.  Our research revealed that it is not just these three dimensions of wellness that determine quality of life.  We discovered four other dimensions of wellness that can also affect our health, wellness, and happiness.

As a life coach, I’m passionate about helping others on their own wellness journey. I have worked with clients from all walks of life to achieve resiliency.  Additionally, I bring a unique perspective to coaching, having experienced the challenges and frustrations of chronic illness firsthand. Likewise, I experienced trauma and loss.  I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and thrive, and I’m committed to helping clients achieve their health and wellness goals using a holistic approach.

As a certified life coach, I have spent 20 years helping clients achieve their wellness & resiliency goals. Whether you are looking to lose weight, manage a chronic illness, or to simply improve your overall life, I can help. My approach to coaching is centered on empowering clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes that lead to lasting results.  I help people look at their life through a unique lens and identify solutions for lasting change.

Why Wellness retreats

Retreat is generally the process of withdrawing from a dangerous situation or place to go away from a place or person in order to escape from fighting or danger.  It brings unique nature experiences for you, your friends, your family and/or your co-workers.  

It’s defined as a quiet or secluded place in which one can rest, use for prayer or meditation. People attend a retreat to relax, rejuvenate, reflect on the past, recharge, and refocus.

A typical day at a Soul Sister Retreat may include a morning meditation or boat yoga, a healthy nutritious meal plan, a massage or energy work treatment. Wellness retreats are centered around improving your health and wellbeing through relaxation, connection and rejuvenation activities.

Simply define a time (from a few days to a month) that you and your tribe will spend away from one’s normal life for the purpose of reconnecting with self, others, or nature.  The purpose of physically removing ones self from normal life to allow time for contemplation. The idea might be to reflect on character, purpose, values, motivation, or a combination of similar things.

Overnight could involve a couple of classes, some talks and conversations, treatments, use of nature facilities, meals, and perhaps relaxing individual and/or group activities.  ‘Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while’.

The goal is to come away feeling fulfilled, grounded and ideally like you learned something to help you walk out your best life. It’s a state of being that we want you to maintain as you segue into a normal life.

Normally a resort is all about the place and a retreat is all about the various therapies and activities that are designed to improve your wellbeing and resiliency. Soul Sister Retreats is designed to bring you both.  Nestled on the historic and pristine Suwannee River.  Each wellness retreat includes a unique experience depending on your tastes and preferences. 

Soul Sister Retreats are set in tranquil places surrounded by nature and host all-inclusive fun and relaxing activities.  Our retreats are designed to promote connections, understanding of where you’ve been and helps you consider the impact you want to have in the world. Spend time alone with your thoughts or with your people. Take advantage of the time to regroup and refresh, so that when you get back to the real world, you’ll be relaxed and stronger than ever.
